An entirely new kind of experience with Carruch
On Sunday, July 25th, 2010 (1 pm Pacific), we'll be offering an experimental event with Carruch called "Drumming Up Utopia." The event is by donation and participants are asked to bring a drum or rattle/shaker (see below in "What to Bring").
The intention of the event is to experience the world in which we want to live through playful sharing of our visions.
Ashielah, Carol, and Carruch will be responsible for holding the "container" for this cocreative event, and Carruch will kick it off with his particular brand of wit and knowing. All participants are invited to open to channeling our most expansive visions of the new world which we are cocreating. You can even participate if you don't live in Port Townsend (see below).
Here's the format:
Participants gather at 1 pm. We set circle, do a quick cleansing ritual, and an orientation to the process. Then we drum up a some energy! Carol will then invoke and bring Carruch in to begin "Telling the Story."
When Carruch is complete, he will stand, and a participant who feels moved to will rise and take his place in the "story-telling seat" to will continue the tale, speaking in detail about how they want to experience the new world.
When one person is speaking the story (no cross-talk), the other participants softly keep time with drums or rattles. They will amplify their sounds when they hear or sense something that excites or attracts them. When something does not draw them, they will soften their sounds. In this way, the group expresses their responses to particular visions and/or the energy with which these visions come through.
At the opening of the event, Carol and Ashielah will describe ways in which this event will be used to spark vision, and to incorporate anything that may arise during the event to fuel that vision.
What to Bring:
Yourself, and a drum or rattle/shaker (a container with a little uncooked grain or beans in it makes a fine shaker). Choose something that can easily create soft rhythms to support (rather than louder sounds to compete with) the voices of the storytellers.
Your openness to dreams, hopes, and visions for the World You Want to Live In.
What to Leave at Home:
Any and all fragrance (on yourself and your clothing) -- for the safety and comfort of all, this is a Fragrance-Free event.
We anticipate that the event will last approximately an hour and a half. All are welcome (including babies and children).
The Drumming Up Utopia event is by donation.
Long-Distance Participation
If you don't live in the Port Townsend area, but you're interested in participating in this new visioning energetically, please
